WHY WE RIDE
Our M.O.M, a St. Louis-based non-profit organization (www.ourmominc.com), was founded by a family of eight children who lost their Mom, Patricia Schellhardt Malone, to metastatic melanoma on June 21, 2007, the first day of summer. She was only 65 years old, a mother of eight, and a grandmother of twelve. For over two years, she fought against this cancer, a disease without a cure or even an effective treatment. Her battle was a difficult one, metastatic melanoma shows no mercy. In honor of her life, Patricia's family started OUR M.O.M., INC. (Our Mark On Melanoma). Our Mom's 8 children are now dedicated to help prevent, detect, and cure this deadly form of skin cancer. Through their efforts, including their Miles over Melanoma event held each Saturday before Mother's Day, Our M.O.M. has raised over $450,000 for cancer research, education, and prevention.
The patients, physicians, caregivers, and staff have partnered with Our M.O.M. this year to create a Pedal the Cause team to continue this tradition of raising funds to fight cancer resarech.
And by participating in Pedal the Cause, we know that 100% of our donations will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Join us by registering for our team or making a donation today.
