WHY WE RIDE

All of us have been impacted through a personal, family, friend or co-worker's experience with cancer. Some of us have experienced all four of these. Cancer is a disease that knows no boundaries. The understanding of how cancer beats our immune system and progresses literally changes daily with the leading-edge research that's taking place. In St. Louis, we are incredibly lucky to have leaders in this research right in our community who collaborate with world-class colleagues at leading edge universities and hospitals.

This research requires great effort by great minds at great expense. The Pedal the Cause event has made a huge impact over the past eleven years by being a leading fundraising event to further the research to bring an end to cancer. Our sponsoring company (first ABB Inc., then Hitachi ABB Power Grids and now Hitachi Energy) has supported our team for the past eight years, significantly increasing the impact of the donations of our team members, their families, our co-workers and friends. We know that it takes world-class research to create a world without cancer. And by participating in Pedal the Cause, we know that 100% of our donations will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital.
