WHY WE RIDE
We are proud to be riding in Pedal the Cause again this year and yet it is difficult to believe that this is our tenth year! Our ride and our team are dedicated to the memory of Bill Boxdorfer (December 27, 1960-March 23, 2014) and the countless other people who have lost their battle with cancer, those who are currently fighting cancer, and those who have survived. We are not okay with the fact that this list continues to grow but we are motivated by the fact that the list of living proof survivors also continues to grow.
We know that it takes world-class research to create a world without cancer. And by participating in Pedal the Cause, we know that 100% of our donations will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Join us by registering for our team; Bill Box's Blue, Red and Grey, or making a donation today.
This is our tenth year as a team and kicking off the season we have already raised over $370,000! That is incredible but we need to keep going. We look forward to riding with our Pedal Family this year and hopefully, maybe reaching a point where the world is normal enough to do something with our fundraising partners of the past. In the meantime, keep supporting Failoni's and Three Kings because they have always supported us!
As for our team name, if you have never heard this song, google it. You will love it. Bill loved it. It's a beautiful song and we thank Bill (and The Who) for reminding us to embrace today.
Blue, Red and Grey
Some people seem obsessed with the morning
Get up early just to watch the sun rise
Some people like it more when there's fire in the sky
Worship the sun when it's high
Some people go for those sultry evenings
Sipping cocktails in the blue, red and grey
But I like every minute of the day
I like every second, so long as you are on my mind
Every moment has its special charm
It's all right when you're around, rain or shine
I know a crowd who only live after midnight
Their faces always seem so pale
And then there's friends of mine who must have sunlight
They say a suntan never fails
I know a man who works the night shift
He's lucky to get a job and some pay
And I like every minute of the day
I dig every second
I can laugh in the snow and rain
I get a buzz from being cold and wet
The pleasure seems to balance out the pain
And so you see that I'm completely crazy
I even shun the south of France
The people on the hill, they say I'm lazy
But when they sleep, I sing and dance
Some people have to have the sultry evenings
Cocktails in the blue, red, and grey
But I like every minute of the day
I like every minute of the day
