WHY I RIDE

There are so many people, every year that are diagnosed, or lose the battle with cancer.

This year I ride in honor of my cousin Patrick Grus, who was diagnosed with colon cancer late last year. Also, last year, friends Mike Osia, Michael Wirthlin both passed away. In 2020, my cousin, Christine Grus and friend, Robert Hazel lost their battle with cancer.

The Premier Warriors was formed because every year, more and more people we know and love are affected. Lives are turned upside down. Everything changes. Pedal the Cause is our way of supporting local attempts to research treatments and cures for the terrible disease. Our goal for this year is at least 30 members raising at least $10,000.

Pedal the Cause is an exceptional charity, in that 100% of the funds are used locally at Children's Hospital and the Siteman Cancer Center.

Each year, approximately 1.7 million people are diagnosed with cancer and nearly 600,000 lose the battle. Help is needed more now, than ever, since current federal budget cuts towards the National Institute of Health (NIH) and National Cancer Institute (NCI) are forcing effective research programs to be limited and canceled without additional support!
