I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's top cycling event. It's a way of life, a celebration, and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.

The past 2 years have brought more cancer to my friends and family and I am tired of knowing soooo many people with cancer. I ride this year for my husband who is living with Metastatic Prostate Cancer, my good friend Bob P who was recently diagnosed with cancer and a wonderful man named Joe who is battling metastatic esophagel cancer. The research being done can help them live a longer life with the development of new treatment options. My sister and my niece were both diagnosed with breast cancer last year and are doing well. The fact that they are both doing well is also due to the fact that ongoing reseach is beating a breast cancer diagnosis!

Outside of my family, I have a very close friend living with metastatic breast cancer who also has benefited by all of the research and drug development done for metastatic breast cancer. She is an inspiration to ALL of us since she has been living with breast cancer for over 30 years and with multiple recurrences and metastatic disease, she NEVER complains! Such a courageous and strong woman!!! My friend and chiropractor who was diagnosed with metastic prostate cancer around the same time as my husband continues to do well and battle his disease. Recently a dear friend Bob was diagnosed with abdominal cancer and is currently battling this challenging disease. Lastly, an employee at my grandkids school who is a wonderful man was diagnosed with metastatic esophagel cancer and continues to be an inspiration to the kids and staff who love him and admire his courage!! We have all been able to share successes and struggles. Last year I mentioned a friend's husband undergoing treatment for rectal cancer and I am happy to report he is cancer free and doing well!

I ride for those who have ended their journey on this earth due to brother Tom, my sister inl-aw Terry, my friend Al, my husband's cousin Lisa and all of those I had the honor of working with along their cancer journey at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman at Children's hospital. I admire the strenght and hope all of these people modeled and continue to learn from on a daily basis.

Please support me as I ride this year in honor of these amazing individuals as well as all of those affected by cancer so we can provide the continued research to find the best treatments and some day a cure for this group of diseases!! I have seen first hand the impact research has made on current treatment strategies and am encouraged by all of the research performed with the ultimate goal of finding the cause and the cure!! All donations help me reach my goal and provide the continued research needed. 100% of your donation goes directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St Louis Children's Hospital.
