I am riding In Honor of Stan Pealer, Ann Pealer, and Myself.

I ride for me. I ride to remember how strong I am, how far I've come, and how much fight I still have in me. On September 19, 2018, it will mark two years since my second brain surgery to remove Daisy (the astrocytoma in my brain). The tumor had returned (oopsie daisy!) after I had shown no evidence from cancer after my first surgery in February 2012. Over the past 2 years, I have had two brain surgeries, 6 week combo of radiation and chemotherapy, followed by chemotherapy each month through April 2018. But get this...the treatment I went through wasn't even available to me back in 2012! Researchers at Siteman Cancer Center have advanced their treatment options for my type of cancer and they are hoping this keeps Daisy from coming back too quickly. What's even more incredible? This phenomenal research institution is just miles away from our home. We don't have to travel to another state to seek out the best, we have it right within our reach!

My family knows cancer far to well. In April, we lost my father, Stan Pealer, to small cell lung cancer. Just a few weeks later, my mother, Anna Pealer, lost her battle to small cell lung cancer too. Both received excellent care at Siteman Cancer Center. Both received hope, resources, and time with us from the treatments and care they received. Dad had benefited from two trial options available to him. This race supports cancer research like his.

I ride to celebrate the incredible lives that my mom and dad lived. I ride to celebrate the time we were given together, even when time was stacked against them. I ride in spite of the pain and grief I feel. And I ride in hope knowing that the funds raised could be those to cure small cell lung cancer once and for all. I ride because I lost my parents. I ride because they believed in me and had hope that Daisy would not return. I ride to share my story of hope, determination, pain, and strength. I ride out of love.

I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer and ride for 2 hours on September 30. I'm riding because I'm Powered By Hope and because I know the cure is out there. When Daisy returns, we need there to be advancements in treatment options. The goal listed is the minimum I need to raise to ride. My personal goal is to surpass that fundraising minimum in a meaningful way. Your donation can help make that possible.

It takes world-class research to create a world without cancer. Please help me in this journey by donating to my ride, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital. Please help me by donating in memory and honor of my mom, dad, and their cancer battles.

Thank you for helping me in this fight!
With gratitude,
