WHY I RIDE

Pedal gives hope to a world without cancer. It seems everyone knows someone who has had cancer, many going through the struggle themselves. Cancer does not discriminate based on age, gender, race, or many of the small things we get caught up in every day. My mom has survived cancer, so has my wife, and in just the last year I know two men who lost hard fought battles at too young of an age, leaving loved ones behind.

Cancer sucks, pure and simple, but every day people are thinking of new ways to beat it. If you don't know much about research in any field, not much happens with any research project until it gets funding. This leaves a gap between good ideas and initial results, that without investment, never gets filled, and these good ideas simply vanish.

The reason Pedal is different than so many other fundraisers is it does something unique. It fills this gap. Working with Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital, it takes good ideas that would never get funding to reach the next stage of research, launching them forward into reality, into cures.
