I am riding In Honor of Liz.
WHY I RIDE
I joined Pedal the Cause in 2017 after supporting Doug in his ride the year before. He had just recovered from his own cancer treatments and I wanted to take a more active role and join his team. Cancer has touched my life by affecting the people I love. Some have beaten this disease and some are still fighting. And sadly many were lost cancer.
This year I am riding in honor of my cousins, Liz and Melissa, two amazing women continuing to thrive in spite of their breast cancer diagnoses. I feel like every dollar raised by Pedal gets us one step closer to finding how to take cancer out of their lives for good; the research at Siteman Cancer Center will unlock treatments and cures that will make a difference to them both.
Our team is Big Black Dog after our sweet black lab, Rex. He was by Doug's side while he recovered from his treatments, providing love and support by just being there. We want our team to be that support to those fighting cancer - we can be the love and support for them and their caregivers knowing that we are working to end cancer.
It takes world-class research to create a world without cancer. Please help me by donating to my ride, and know that 100% of your donation will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital. Join me and show your love and support for all those fighting cancer.
