WHY I'M INSPIRED

I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's top cycling event. It's a way of life, a celebration, and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.

This is my fifth year riding in Pedal the Cause and I'm riding in memory of my dad, Richard. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma in July of 2015 and underwent brain surgery in August that same year. Unfortunately he began having seizures in August of 2016 and his health slowly declined until he passed away on January 21st, 2017. The blog I wrote during the whole journey is still online, if you're interested in reading more of what we went through during those 18 months, you can read about it here: mydad-ourjourney.blogspot.com

My Dad displayed some of the most incredible strength and courage during his battle with this horrible disease. When he was first diagnosed, the doctor gave him 14 months to live. That 14 month mark came and we celebrated by feasting at Joe's Crab Shack. Dad did everything he could to fight and I want to fight back in his memory by raising money for cancer research. 100% of your donation goes to cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital. I loved being in the spin zone last year so I'm spinning for two straight hours again this year and get to do it with my amazingly supportive husband! My fundraising goal this year is $500 and any donation amount is greatly appreciated!!

NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!!!
