Pedal the Cause

I'm riding: 20 miles

ID: 63430

Lifetime total: $6,351.00

I am riding In Honor of Darcy and Fin Nayler.

As most of you know my dear friend Darcy was struck with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia six years ago. Our village was affected deeply as we suffered next to Darcy and her family. She spent 176 days in the hospital or the spa as she would affectionately call it undergoing chemo, infections, comas, ventilators, etc. I am happy to say my warrior friend is alive and doing well because of the amazing talents and compassion of the doctors at Siteman Cancer Center. Darcy was part of a chemo trial for patients under the age of 40 with AML. Out of 40 participants in that trial across the nation only 3 survived. Darcy is one of those survivors.

This year I am once again riding for Darcy and her family. Her sweet 16 year old son Fin was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma last year. This large tumor is in his abdomen and wrapped around his ureter and spinal cord. He underwent 42 weeks of chemo and 14 weeks of radiation to try and shrink this beast. He is still fighting the good fight. Please support my ride so we can continue research and funding for cancer. We can't let cancer win.
This year is a little different in that all of the riders are doing their ride at their own pace and time this weekend. COVID won't stop us riding for a good cause.

I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Please send good thoughts for Darcy and Fin in their fight and for all the other riders on Team Tread Fancy on September 26. We are riding 10-100 miles over the weekend to make a difference.

It takes world-class research to create a world without cancer. Please help me in this journey by donating to our ride, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital.
