WHY I RIDE

I'll never forget listening to the voice mail from my doctor the summer of 2013 after stepping off of a plane to go present to a customer. I immediately called her back and got the news that I had cancer. Fortunately, my fight was relatively simple as far as cancer goes and a year and a half later I had the news that I was cancer free. I was one of the lucky ones but that continues to have a significant impact on my life. I'm 4 years cancer free as of January 2018. Each year is an emotional event.

This year we are embarking on an entirely new journey as a WWT team to participate in RAAM and raise money for PTC.

I love cycling and I hate cancer, so I figured this was a worthwhile endeavor! I'm asking for your support. I'm humbled by the impact our team had last year as a group we raised over $80K. I think we can eclipse $100K this year with our RAAM team playing a big part in that.

I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. It's a way of life, a celebration, and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer. I'm going be one of 8 team members who ride 3,000 miles across 12 states and climb over 170,000 vertical feet along the way.

It takes world-class research to create a world without cancer. Please help me in this journey by donating to my ride. Give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital.

This is personal for all of us. I don't know of a single person who hasn't been affected by this awful disease. Please join the cause!

Thanks,
Matt
