WHY I RIDE

This is my third year riding in Pedal-The-Cause. Every year I dedicate my ride to someone who has battled cancer or who is currently battling cancer. Year one it was for a classmate of my daughter. Her name was Clare Blasť and her memory lives on.. Last year another friend of mine, Debbie Frein, battled glioblastoma and fought bravely. She lost her battle in June of 2017. In the same year one of my son's volleyball coaches fought melanoma and died after a long battle. Her name is Eileen Dougherty. This year I have a host of people who inspire me. First is Kristi Boccardi. She waged a battle on and off for years before eventually succumbing to colorectal cancer. Currently my father-in-law, Ron Songer, is hanging strong against multiple myeloma. My brother-in-law, Darrell Newberry, has a team of surgeons, oncologists, etc. strategizing in his corner as he also fights metastatic colorectal cancer. We're continuing to pray for their future.

It takes world-class research to create a world without cancer. Please help me in this journey by donating to my ride, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Over the last few years I've had the privilege of learning and working with the researchers at Siteman Cancer Center and I've been able to see first-hand some of the amazing work they do. Every gift helps regardless of the amount. I have committed to raising funds for this effort and I thank you in advance for anything you can do to help my efforts.
