WHY I RIDE
This is my 11th year on Team Clayco. This year Pedal the Cause looks much different, instead of spinning this year i will completing my own physical challenge...and will run 5 miles. I am not a runner but there is a first time for everything!
I have a very close friend and co-worker that is currently battling esophageal cancer. Her diagnosis came at the same time the pandemic hit and she has had to go through surgery and treatments alone. There is never a good time for cancer but to go through this during a pandemic is off the charts. The Pedal family has been phenomenally successful at funding new cancer research and therapies.
On a lighter note, I have had the good fortune to experience first-hand the miracles that these people provide to families every day. My now 22-year-old niece, Hannah Haggard, is a cancer survivor. She has brought so much joy and happiness to our family over the years that I just cannot imagine the possibility of having lost her. Thanks to the hard work done at the Siteman Cancer Center and Children's Hospital, I don't have to experience that loss. This year I run for Pedal for the Cause to say THANK YOU for all they do and to support them in the continued fight against cancer.
My goal is to raise $500 to contribute to this fight. Please help me in this journey by donating to my RUN, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Thank you for your support and consideration! Why I Ride
