Why I ride: I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer again this year. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's top cycling event. It's a way of life, a celebration, and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.

Most of us have in some way been affected by Cancer. My husband was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in September of 2010. In July of 2014 we were told the cancer had metastasized and was now on his spine and lung. He began CHEMO treatments in August of 2014. In March of 2016 we found out the cancer had spread to his brain. He went thru brain surgery to remove the largest tumor and then endured whole brain radiation treatments. He was getting back on track and was to begin CHEMO treatments again when he came down with Pneumonia. After spending most of March and April in the hospital due to the brain surgery and pneumonia, he asked to be able to stay home. We then had hospice come in to our home. He was happy to be home and had a couple of good weeks in May before we lost him on May 31, 2016.

I am riding in memory of the most wonderful man I was lucky enough to spend 14 years of my life with. I miss him every day.

It takes world-class research to create a world without cancer. Please help me in this journey by donating to my ride, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Thank you for your help - and remember, all you have to do is donate! I'm the one on the bike!

Thank you very much for your support.
