WHY I RIDE
This is year #13 for me, and I can't believe it. Where has the time gone? With abundant pride, I ride again this year in memory of the sweetest and bravest person I will ever know. I'm riding also in honor of every other young person whose life has been interrupted by this horrid disease. I want so much for you to resume your normal kid life ASAP! Finally, I ride for all parents... may this ordeal be over soon for your children, and may you smile and breathe and laugh again.
Yes, Clare left us much too soon on December 14, 2012, just four days shy of her 15th birthday. But now we're blessed with an opportunity to finish here on Earth what she couldn't. One of her top missions was to make sure Cancer knew it wasn't going to win. We can keep fighting for her.
And so Clare, on Sept. 24, 2023, I know you're gonna help me through this physical challenge once again, as you know I have no business doing this each year. How else are my heart and lungs able to endure all those hours and hills without your encouragement? You are forever remaining an inspiration to countless others, as well, and in this way you're continuing to make our world a better place. Please remain alongside all the children (and their parents) who are battling to kick cancer in the butt, and keep their spirits soaring!
Would you please help me honor Clare and her ongoing mission by making a donation to my ride? My fundraising goal again is $2,500, and you might be someone who helped me make that level last year! As you know by now, what's unique about PTC is that 100% of everything raised will be spent right here in St. Louis for cancer research and new therapies. Your dollars might directly benefit someone who is hanging tough, remaining positive, and hoping for a promising treatment and long life ahead.
Thanks for reading my little summary ... and for anything you can do!
John
