WHY I RIDE

I am so honored to be riding for Team Clare for the thirteenth time. (Lucky #13!) In 2011, when Clare was diagnosed with ACC, we started as SLCH Team Clare. In 2012, Clare was the Captain of Team Clare and rode 15 miles that October--despite her stage IV cancer. Her rallying cry that year was to: TELL CANCER THAT IT WILL NOT WIN! Clare went to heaven on December 14, 2012, so we must carry on the fight in her name.

Clare once announced, There is nothing more important in a cancer kid's life than finding a cure for cancer. On behalf of the bravest young lady I will ever know, I am thrilled to support Pedal the Cause--yesterday, today, and always. I sincerely hope and pray that the research funded at Siteman and SLCH by this event will ultimately lead to a cure for cancer. We all know too well the horrors of this disease, and, in November 2019, I, too joined the millions fighting for their lives against this indiscriminate disease that cripples and kills innocent souls. I want to do whatever I can do to keep one more person from having to live this nightmare. Truly, we must find a way to reach the goal of a world without cancer.
