SIX YEAR UPDATE: 9/21/19--Yes, Jake and I are riding together for the SIXTH AND FINAL year before he heads to college in Fall 2020! Crazy to think Jake and I have been riding for the cause since he was 11 years old. We've lost too many loved ones to cancer through these years and we're doubling down to raise more money than ever before for cancer research. Thank you for all you have done these past five years, and thank you for considering donating to our ride again this year. Cancer research--especially at Siteman--is BLAZING TRAILS in curing cancer. This year, I got to spend a good amount of time with Dr. Tim Eberlein who co-founded and leads Siteman Cancer Center. I'm amazed at the breakthroughs in research. So, I promise you that your gifts are being put to work, creating miraculous discoveries and helping to cure cancer.

PS--Spire is, once again, a proud sponsor of Pedal the Cause, with nearly a hundred riders this year, hundreds of volunteers and a deeper commitment than ever before. #SpireServes #LoveLori #LoveTripp #LoveMom #LoveAll

UPDATE: 9/26/18--For the *FIFTH* year, my son Jake and I are riding with Team Spire to raise money for cancer research! Riding is a way of life for us, a celebration and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer. We've lost loved ones to cancer--Mom, Lori and Tripp--and we don't want to lose anyone else. We're asking you to help us in this journey by donating to our ride. Jake and I will ride across the finish line in celebration of your gift. Love, always--Jessica and Jake

PS--I'm super proud to say that the company I work for, Spire, is sponsoring the Start/Finish Line for the second year. One hundred Spire volunteers will line the Finish, giving medals to all riders. Thanks to sponsors like Spire, all of the Pedal the Cause events are fully funded, which means that 100% of your donation goes directly to accelerating world-class cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital.

UPDATE 9/16/17--Jake and I are riding for our FOURTH year with Team Spire, and we continue to hope for continued progress in the cure for cancer. We've seen significant advances in medicine and care over these last years, and we are thankful for that. Unfortunately, this year we lost our lovie Lori to cancer, after a four year journey living with cancer. And, I'm sad to say that we also lost our dear friend and neighbor Tripp. We miss Lori and Tripp very much. It's in their honor and memory that we double-down on efforts to raise dollars for cancer research. Please, come ride with us by making a donation. Jake and I will ride across the finish line in celebration of your gift. Love, always--Jessica and Jake

UPDATE 9/17/16--Jake and I are riding for our third year, proud to represent Team Spire and our loved ones, those who have passed on from cancer (love you Mom) and those who are living with cancer (love you, Lori and Tripp). We continue to see true advances in the quest for a world without cancer. Last year, I told you about the miraculous work being done for Lori at NIH. Today, Lori is living strong, continuing her life with cancer and contributing to medical discovery every day. My brave pioneer. My lovie. Every day, Lori makes contributions toward a world without cancer. And that's why we ride, why we ask for you to ride with us, why we ask for your support. It makes a difference. You make a difference. Please, come ride with us by making a donation. We'll carry your name across the finish line in celebration of your gift. Lots of love--Jessica and Jake

UPDATE 9/23/15--Right now, I am sitting in the hospital--National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD--with my best friend Lori who is in a national trial to eradicate cancer (this week doctors asked Lori to be part of a Discovery Channel documentary--that's because she's a rock star, a brave pioneer, and a beautiful human being...and has already contributed enormously to scientific discovery on cancer eradication). The treatment she is going through right now is not for the faint of heart...

9/2014--In memory of my Mom (Jody) and in honor of my dear friends Lori and Tripp who are living with cancer, I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the race to find cures for cancer....
