WHY I RIDE
I am joining the fight against cancer by participating in the eighth-annual Pedal the Cause bike challenge on September 23-24. Pedal the Cause has the mission to provide funding for cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital through their annual cycling challenge in hopes that the research funded by their event will ultimately lead to a cure for cancer.
I am riding for my brother and father who are both cancer survivors. At the age of 16 my brother was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia and was treated at St. Louis Children's Hospital. After a long 2 year battle he was able to ring the bell as he was in full remission. The 5 years later my father was diagnosed with throat cancer and treated at Siteman Cancer Center. On October 9th, 2023 my brother will be a 20 year cancer survivor and my father later this year will also be a 15 year cancer survivor!!!
I feel lucky that everyday I get to go to work and raise money for the two institutions that saved my brother and dads lives.
While I celebrate the my brother and Dad's cancer thriving journey, I also ride in memory of my mother in law who last her battle in January of 2021. No one family should have to experience the pain of losing a loved on to this terrible disease.
So I raise money and awareness for Pedal the Cause in hope of one day creating A World Without Cancer!
Please help me in this journey to find a cure by donating to my ride. I have committed to raise $375 for cancer research and 100% of your donation will go to directly to this cause.
