Why I ride: This is my fourth year as a Pedal the Cause team captain. The past three years I have ridden to support my family members who have survived cancer - my wife (thyroid) and father (thyroid, kidney).
This year I ride for myself as well.
In November 2016 I stopped in the Centene clinic to get a bump checked out on my neck. The symptoms and blood test results were suspicious enough to warrant additional (and increasingly frantic) examinations, tests and scans. By the time the results came in two weeks later I was left with not one but three cancer diagnosis - Marginal Zone Lymphoma, Testicular Cancer and Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma.
Fast forward five months, one surgery and six cycles of chemotherapy and I am still around, fighting and doing my best to raise awareness and donations to support the innovative research and development taking place at Siteman Cancer Center.
Please help me in this journey by donating to my ride, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital.
