I am so proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's top cycling event. It's a way of life, a celebration, and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.

This will be my 7th year riding in support of a world without cancer. I am riding again this year on behalf of Addi Darnell, Bruce Cope, and my uncle Spencer Meagher. Addi is the 18 year old daughter of Andrew and Lyndsey Darnell and she is winning the fight against Non Hodgkin's lymphoma. Addi has undergone multiple treatments over the past 3 years and she has been relentless about defeating this awful cancer. She is cancer free at this time but she continues to fight and bring awareness so that other kids like her don't have to experience what she has had to endure.

Bruce Cope is another fighter! He has been battling prostate cancer for 16 years. I happened to be with him when the doctor called to inform him of the diagnosis while we were golfing. For 16 years he has battled and has recently received a new treatment that is currently doing it's job of removing cancer from his body. If you know Bruce, then you know he brings a smile to everyone he encounters. He has worked tirelessly at beating this awful disease and his attitude has inspired so many to stay positive and fight!

Spencer Meagher holds a special place in my heart as he is my uncle and the youngest brother of my father. Spencer was diagnosed earlier in the year with lung cancer and unfortunately his cancer has spread to other parts of the body. Spencer, like Bruce, has an infectious attitude and a strong faith that is propelling his optimism toward beating cancer. He is currently going through various treatments and chemotherapy with the great team of doctors that he has including his wonderful wife Cindy. He is in the early stages of his fight but I have no doubt that he will win this battle and conquer cancer!

Please help me in this journey by donating to my ride, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Thank You for your support,

Nathan T Meagher
