WHY I RIDE
I am so proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's top cycling event. It's a way of life, a celebration, and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.
This will be my 6th year riding in support of a world without cancer. I am riding again this year on behalf of Addi Darnell and Bruce Cope. Addi is the 17 year old daughter of my friend Andrew Darnell who is battling and winning the fight against Non Hodgkin's lymphoma. Addi has undergone multiple treatments over the past 18 months and she has been relentless about defeating this awful cancer. She is cancer free at this time but she continues to fight and bring awareness so that other kids like her don't have to experience what she has had to endure. Addi will also be riding in this years event as she knows the importance of what Pedal the Cause has brought to her and her family.
Bruce Cope is another fighter! He has been battling prostate cancer for 15 years. I happened to be with him when the doctor called to inform him of the diagnosis. For 15 years he has battled and is now receiving a new treatment that is very exciting with lots of optimism. If you know Bruce, then you know he brings a smile to everyone he encounters. He has worked tirelessly at beating this awful disease and if he's not receiving cancer treatments in late September I'll assure you he will be riding to help beat cancer as well!!!
Please help me in this journey by donating to my ride, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Thank You for your support,
