WHY I RIDE

My sister lost her personal battle against cancer in January 2016. Reflecting on her journey the medical professionals did what they thought best for her. But sometimes we just don't know enough. One way to help expand the knowledge about cancer and how best to help those with it, is to fund research projects. The more we know the better goes the battle. There has been a lot of progress made in the fight against cancer but it is not enough. Not yet.

A friend of mine, Mary Parrott, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She gets chemo to treat the cancer. She is a fighter. It's not an easy battle. A cure would be really nice.

So, I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's top cycling event. It's a way of life, a celebration, and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer. This is my 10th year to ride.

It takes world-class research to create a world without cancer. Please help me in this journey by donating to my ride, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Better yet, come out and ride with me. I don't ride very fast. Slow and steady wins the race. After all, its a ride, not a race. Ride-on!
