It's Pedal the Cause time!!

I rode for the first time in 2013, shortly after my dad passed after a long battle with cancer. During his fight, he never stopped enjoying life or trying new things. He was a friend to many people. He was a son, brother, and uncle. More importantly, he was a dad and grandpa in the truest sense of those two words. I ride for Paul Thompson. I ride for my dad.

While I still ride for dad, I'm also riding for another person this year as well - me. In late 2018, I was treated for melanoma. I'm happy to report that everything is good now (you can't get rid of me that easy), but the experience was yet another reason to support this truly wonderful cause.

So what is Pedal? Pedal the Cause's mission is to provide critical funding for cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital through its annual cycling challenge. Its hope is that research funded by PTC will ultimately lead to a cure for cancer. Founded in 2010 with the bold model of using public donations to fund world-class cancer research, Pedal the Cause has quickly become the gateway to curing cancer - all cancers, for everyone. Pedal the Cause donations seed best-in-breed ideas at its beneficiaries to allow the cultivation of proof of concept and critical data. These seeded projects often turn into groundbreaking results that lead to new treatments and cures, preventions, and early detection diagnostics. Best of all, 100% OF EVERY DONATION GOES TO THIS VERY WORTHY CAUSE.

This is my 7th year participating in Pedal the Cause. In that time, we - YOU AND I - have raised over $10,950 together, including $1600 last year alone. Let's add to that total in 2019. Please donate today. I'm so certain we can meet or beat last year's total, I've already kicked in the first $100 to get us started.
