WHY I RIDE

I am joining the fight against cancer by participating in the annual Pedal the Cause bike challenge. Pedal the Cause has the mission to provide funding for cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital through their annual cycling challenge in hopes that the research funded by their event will ultimately lead to a cure for cancer.

In October of 2012, I was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. I completed 6 rounds of R-CHOP chemotherapy, followed by radiation therapy. By the grace of God, I recently celebrated five years in complete remission! I was not directly treated by the Siteman Cancer Center, but my oncologist did consult with the experts there to fine-tune my diagnosis and treatment plan, so I'm a big fan of Siteman, and a believer in the work they do.

While I'm now enjoying the blessing of living cancer free, the story doesn't end well for too many. I'm riding in memory of my aunt Sherry, my cousin Jody, and my friend Chuck who lost their struggles with this terrible disease. Please help me in this journey to find a cure by donating to my ride. My goal is to raise $2,500 for cancer research, and 100% of your donation will go to directly to this cause.

I hope you will join me in this grass-roots effort to advance research and find a cure.
