WHY I RIDE

I am joining the fight against cancer by participating in the fourth-annual Pedal the Cause bike challenge. Pedal the Cause has the mission to provide funding for cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital through their annual cycling challenge in hopes that the research funded by their event will ultimately lead to a cure for cancer.

Specifically, I ride for Pancreas Cancer Patients. This deadly disease has a 8% five year survivor rate and will likely be the second leading cause of cancer mortality by 2030. Over the last three years Pedal the cause has helped fund four pancreas cancer focused projects. The return on those investments resulting in new grants totaling greater than 10 million dollars from he federal government and new three clinical trials. These effort would not be possible without funding from events like pedal the cause.
