Why I ride: I began riding in Pedal The Cause the innagural year. Our team, Blake's Team, honored my son who is a survivor of Lymphoma. Blake rode 25 miles his first year while undergoing treatment which was truly inspirational. My wife and daughter also rode, our team had 97 riders, mostly school friends and parents. Our family has stayed committed to the cause and we ride every year.
A few years ago a great friend from college lost his battle with cancer. I think of Frank Bott and his family every day, especially when I am training for the ride. I am riding to continue to raise money to beat this horrible disease. I am comforted knowing that every penny I raise goes to cancer research in St. Louis and supports the amazing scientists and doctors at Washington University, Barnes Jewish Hospital, Siteman Cancer Center, and Children's Hospital who will help find the cure. This year my friend, Greg Stubblefield, is undergoing treatment and I deeply admire his attitude to rid himself of cancer.
This year I hope to get more Enterprise Holdings employees, family, and friends involved in the ride. I know that so many of us have had their lives affected in some way by cancer, I hope that many Enterprise Holdings employees, family, and friends of will join me!
