WHY I RIDE

Again, this year, I am joining the fight against cancer by participating in the 2022 Pedal the Cause bike fundraiser and pledging to ride the Pedal Pacer route (just under 30 miles) on Saturday and Big Hitter route (48.5 miles) on Sunday. The Pedal the Cause mission is to provide funding for cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital through their annual cycling challenge in the hope that the research funded by their event will ultimately lead to a cure for cancer.

In April, 2012, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. My treatment plan with Dr. Bartlett was completed in January 2015. I've graduated to doctor visits every 6 months to monitor my condition. I am amazed at their caring, knowledge, and the available treatments.

This will be my tenth year to participate in Pedal the Cause. They have moved the celebration to the day before the riding days. As in past years, the participants will start and end their rides from the Chesterfield Mall parking lot. I continue to do most of my training around the St. Charles area.

I am honored to raise funds through this event. Remember that 100% of your donation will go to local cancer research facilities.
