WHY I RIDE

Cancer impacts most of us at some point during our lifetimes. I'm proud to volunteer to support the Mississippi Lime team and the 2023 riders in Pedal the Cause.

I volunteer in memory of Martha Silling, Isabel Stevenson, Melissa Enriquez, Grover Blankenship, and Bob Rasche. I volunteer in honor of Leona Gwen Fitzwater and Chloe Booker.

I would also like to spread the word about the importance of vaccination to help prevent certain cancers. Getting a child vaccinated can help to protect them from cervical, head, and neck cancers later in life, like the cancer that took my mother's life. Cancer research plays an essential role in helping us to get better at both treating AND preventing cancer.

I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.
