WHY I RIDE

I have had a personal incentive to work in science and cancer research due to my mother passing from lymphoma in 1976 when I was 16, ironically only a few hundred feet from my current lab at Wash U for the Siteman Cancer Center. I can view from my office window to Queeny Tower and specifically the room where she was.

Please ride with me to find a cure by donating to my ride. 100% of your donation will go to directly to this cause, the administration funded by the rider's entry fees, corporate sponsorship, and volunteering effort. You can donate for 2019 up to October 31.

If you have donated to any of the rides over the years, I can attest that the funding has had direct benefit, my lab conducting cell sorting and analysis for some of the recipient investigators and seeing results that have in fact transitioned into therapies.

For the tenth year of Pedal this is the fifth year for Team Leukemia and is comprised of patients, physician scientists, staff, friends and families of the Bone Marrow Transplant section of Wash U Oncology. I am proud to captain this group, and invite you to join us in any capacity, riding, volunteering, or donation.
