WHY I RIDE

I'm inspired to ride in an effort to raise funds so one day we can erase this disease from our planet.

Our son Jake is an avid soccer player and also enjoys skiing, video games, and traveling with his family.

Jake was diagnosed with a brain tumor late in 2021. Jake managed two craniotomies, thirty rounds of radiation and six rounds of chemotherapy. Following the tremendous care received from SITEMAN Kid's and the St. Louis Children's Hospital. Sadly, a new tumor was discovered on September 29th so Jake will be undergoing further treatment.

Yes, I'm crazy about cycling. Yes, my family's life has been impacted by Jake's diagnosis and treatment, but we would be nowhere without the incredible staff at St. Louis Children's Hospital and Siteman Cancer Center.

Jake and the entire Barnes team are one of the main reasons I'm riding for Pedal the Cause. Jake's treatment could have gone in a much different direction. This hospital and its team deserve to receive the recognition and donations needed to continue their life-changing work.
