WHY I RIDE

Pedal the Cause 2022

This will be our 11th year of Team Bud & Barb riding in Pedal the Cause. We started riding to honor Anne?s dad, Bud, who lost his fight against Bladder cancer in Dec. of 2011. We ride to honor all of those who?ve lost the fight, whether they?re family members, loved ones, friends or co-workers.

We also ride to help those currently fighting to survive cancer. One friend and former co-worker I?d like to honor in 2022 is Jill Hampton. Jill, who is an avid cyclist, was never a smoker, and is suffering from and fighting Metastatic Adenocarcinoma lung cancer which has spread to her kidneys, liver, spine and brain. Jill is in her 2nd round of radiation and chemotherapy. It?s so hard to imagine what she and all cancer patients go through.

Team Bud & Barb has raised over $175,300 since we started, money that goes straight to funding cancer research right here in St. Louis. Research projects that push the science to help patients like Jill fight cancer.

This is why I ride Pedal the Cause. This is why I train for Pedal every year. This is why I need your donations to help meet my $2500 fundraising goal. Please help my friend Jill and all the people we know who are in the fight against cancer.
