I am riding In Honor of Kevin Kilcullin.

In 2018, Kevin was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer. He had surgery, radioactive iodine treatment and we thought we were done. We thought the cancer was gone. Then, almost exactly a year later, the cancer was back and he was having surgery again. Thyroid Cancer is a curable, treatable, slow moving cancer, but to hear it was back was scary and unbelievable. We thought we were over this. We had to experience the sick drop of your stomach when you are given the diagnosis again. Kevin is doing fine, but the thought that it could cone back again lingers in the back of our minds. Unfortunately this time they know they didn?t get all the tumors in his neck...what if the renaming tumor is cancerous?...what if it spreads?...I'm not feeling well, is it cancer again?

In our family, cancer also hit my dad and my aunt (who beat it and continues to beat it). I believe that a cure will come soon so I am riding 100 miles over the course of several weekends in September to help raise money to find that cure. I'm also riding so people, those who are diagnosed with cancer and those who love someone with cancer, won't experience that sick drop in their stomach.

I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's top cycling event. It's a way of life, a celebration, and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.

It takes world-class research to create a world without cancer. Please help me in this journey by donating to my ride, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital.
