WHY I RIDE
Thank you for visiting my page!
Here's what I'm thinking about this year as I mentally and physically start gearing up for riding for cancer research.
Just last weekend our youngest daughter and I were riding in the car, chatting about things when I mentioned that a friend had passed away from cancer. A moment of silence in the car, then: you know, I'm really sick and tired of people dying from cancer is what she said. I responded, me too.
When I hear of anyone passing after a battle with the evil foe I sometimes get a little depressed but almost always I really get angry. I am so sick and tired of cancer and the millions of lives it takes.
So, this year, I've decided to call my fund raising efforts SICK AND TIRED OF CANCER.
I know this is not exactly profound but I really hate death, all death.
No matter what someone dies from we mourn. Variables such as age, Length of illness, etc. change some of our feelings but the death still stings.
When it comes from the onset of a disease with no known cause it is even more frustrating.
Cancer is one of these diseases.
