Almost everyone of us knows someone whose life has been affected by cancer.
You might have personally had to fight against cancer, or you have watched and supported someone in their fight against it. With such a scary disease, it afflicts more than just the person who gets diagnosed, it transcends through that person?s family and friends. The fear of loosing a loved one to cancer is very salient. Finding a cure is within reach though.

In undergrad I worked in a tissue culture lab that experimented with different gene silencing technologies to be tested as potential cancer treatments. Last year, as a 2nd year medical school at Washington University in St. Louis I was introduced to Pedal The Cause and did the 37mile ride and raised $400 for cancer research. Now, in my third year of medical school, I am doing Pedal the Cause again, this time shooting for the 50mile course and another $400 of fundraising towards cancer research. I?m proud to be joining my other colleagues from Wash U to support the incredible work done at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital. 100% of your donation swill go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital. Please help support my campaign by donating any small amount and/or sharing it with friends and family. Thank you!

See below if you are interested in learning more about where your money would be going to:

More about Pedal the Cause:
* 100% of public donations go to fund world-class cancer research? all cancers, for everyone.
* 100% of all funds raised would stay in St. Louis and fund world-class cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children?s Hospital.
* In this period of diminished federal funding where support typically gets funneled to already proven concepts, many potential new ideas are not deemed eligible. Pedal the Cause donations ?seed? best-in-breed ideas at our beneficiaries to allow the cultivation of proof of concept and critical data. These seeded projects often turn into groundbreaking results that lead to new treatments and cures, preventions, and early detection diagnostics. Additionally, donations from Pedal the Cause make a positive economic impact in the St. Louis community as stronger research funding will continue to support this high profile and critically important segment of the St. Louis economy.
