WHY I RIDE

I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's top cycling event. It's a way of life, a celebration, and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.

In January of 2016 my family received the devastating news that my father, Rick Frazier, had been diagnosed with cancer. The courage and bravery he exhibited is truly remarkable. Although he got knocked down, although the chemotherapy gave him almost as many health issues as the cancer, although the fact that the road he had to travel seemed like it may never end, he persevered. He never backed down, he never gave up. On July 15th, 2016 we found out that the cancer was gone. This disease made me realize just how precious life is, and how important family is. Through all of the hair loss, blisters, raw skin from radiation, sickness, clots and infections, he never gave up. We idolize musicians, movie stars, and super heroes. My dad is my superhero, my idol. Whether it was fate, God, prayers, or medicine that healed him, I cannot wait to spend many more years with my dad.

It takes world-class research to create a world without cancer. Please help me in this journey by donating to my ride, so that someday brave people like my dad won't have to go through this battle. Give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center (the awesome team of doctors and nurses who helped my dad) and St. Louis Children's Hospital.
